Learning Log for Week of May 16th - May20th
My favorite thing this week was going to Thanksgiving Point Museum and Curiosity Museum.
Homeroom:
I worked on my math facts this week. I am working on trying to multiplication and division flashcards in 1.5 minutes. I also did code monkey where I learned how to code.
Math:
I finished my lesson #16 and took my unit test. I learned how to skip count by 4 so that I can learn how to multiply by 4 in the next lesson. I am excited to learn all my multiplication facts.
Science:
In Science we did a field trip to Thanksgiving Point and learned about flowers at the gardens. Then we went to the curiosity museum and I learned about the rain forrest at the museum, it was fun to learn more since we did a study on biomes.
Language Arts:
I am working on my spelling in spelling-u-see. I am working on my vowel chunks and constant chunks. I was able to learn about momma bears and how she teaches her cubs while I was learning how to spell. My favorite spelling day is the no rule day where I can draw a picture and then write my favorite sentence.
History/Geography:
This week we went on a field trip to the University of Utah and saw a program about the pacific islands and learned about some of their culture. We visited Hawaii, Tahiti, and New Zealand. My favorite island was Hawaii because I think it is really cool how the island was made by volcanos.
Tech:
I invited my friend George to come over and we did our last assignment together. We came up with the ultimate roll-a-coster. It was cool to try something new.
P.E.
In soccer last week we worked on our skills on Monday and got ready for our game on Thursday. We had a game on Saturday. We are getting excited to try out for competition soccer, I am just going to try out to see what it's like. I am nervous and excited.
