Week #25

Learning Log for Week of March 7th - March 11th

My favorite thing this week was my prodigy math game.

Homeroom:

This week I studied on brain pop junior.  I also worked on Khan Academy.  I like watching the videos and taking the quizzes.

Math:

This week in Math I finished lesson #4 in Math U See. It was about multiplying by 10.  I learned the easiest way was to skip count by 10.  I also really liked playing on my new prodigy math game.

English/Language Arts:

This week we worked on spelling and reading books as a family.  I am excited because we ordered a new spelling program called Spelling U See.  I am excited for it to come in and get started.

Science:

This week in science we learned more about birds.  This week we talked about the birds wings and feathers.  I didn't know that birds feathers keep them more warm than fur can, this is why our clothes are made up of down feathers and not fur.  We went to a lake by our house and we got to look at the different birds and see their peaks and their feet to see how the different types help them in their habitat. We also got to pick up feathers and look at them and see their different parts.

History/Geography:

This week in Geography we are still working on our study of the Asian continent. We studied the political geography and talked about boundaries.  We talked about the physical boundaries like mountains and rivers and then we talked about the man made boundaries lines. Then we made a map of all the different countries on the Asian Continent.

Tech:

I am finishing up my projects in my lego class.  This is my favorite class so far.  I love putting the pieces together and seeing them work.

P.E:

I am starting up with my soccer team again next week!  I am really excited and started practicing my drills in the backyard.  I organized my soccer stuff so I am ready to go!
