Week #20

Learning Log for Week of February 1st - February 5th

My favorite thing this week was going to see the mummies at the Leonardo.  We have been studying about mummies and how they were buried in our Egypt study.

Homeroom:

This week for homeroom I worked on khan academy.  I worked on math mission, I am at 55% of my first math mission.  My goal is to get to 75% next week.

Math:

This week in Math I finished my entire Beta Book!  I was really excited to take the Lesson #30 test, Unit test, and then my final test.  I am excited to start Gamma and learn how to multiply.

English/Language Arts:

We are still working on our unit on Little House in the Big Woods.  We read about going to town.  We talked about how Laura and her character.  Laura had the best, wonderful and hard day.  It was the best day because she got to see the town Pepin and go to the store.  Laura dressed up in her best dress and got to curl her hair.  It was a hard day because she ripped her dress and the store keeper only talked about Mary's hair.

Science:

This week in science talked more about vertebrates and this week was about Sharks. We talked about the whale shark, the great white shark, and the hammerhead shark.  We learned that we shouldn't how sharks lives so it made them not seem so scary.  They are the top predators in their environment.

History/Geography:

In History this week we finished our unit study on Egypt. We talked about pyramids and how they were built to honor their dead.  We watched videos of the how the great pyramids of Giza were built.  We got to make an Egyptian necklace.

Tech:

In my Lego Robotics Class I worked on my top five favorite lessons.  I helped my friend, George, learn how to built his first robotics and program it with the codes.  I also took a coupe of projects and changed them a little bit.  I also showed my Grandpa one of my projects and showed him how it works.  I had to order a new part for my next project.

P.E.

I am going to go to the Harlem Globe Trotters next week.  I am really excited, so my little brother and I have been practicing our moves.  We have been practicing with our dad.
