Learning Log for Week of January 4th - January 8th
My favorite thing this week was using my new "little passports"
activity that I got for christmas.
Homeroom:
This week for homeroom I worked on brain pop. One of my favorite things is to play the math games. I also got on Khan Academy and earned some more points so I can change my avatar.
Math:
This week in Math I finished my lessons through 26. I am excited to finish up Beta workbook and start on my Gamma. I am excited to learn about multiplication.
English/Language Arts:
We started doing a unit study with my family on Little House in the Big Woods. We got to draw and color a map of where Laura and her family moved while she was alive. Then we made homemade butter and talked about some of the hard things Laura and her family had to do
Science:
We did a lot of fun experiments over the break. We built a volcano and talked about the different volcanos around the world and the different rocks that come from it. We learned about Slim and made our own homemade slim. For my birthday I got science goggles and science coat that I am excited to use in my science experiments. My brother got a microscope for Christmas so we have been trying out different things to put under the microscope. We studied axolotls and other amphibians. For Christmas my brothers and I got crates that come in the mail once a mail. This month we worked on our "arcade" crate and I built a wooden arcade claw. We got another crate that was about "shadow and light." It is sometimes hard to built and set up the experiments, but I really like it.
History/Geography:
In History we learned more about our Egypt Unit. And in Geography we learned about the Earth's Hydrosphere. We got little passports for Christmas and we got to learn about Brazil. I am excited for next month's package to come, it is going to be on Japan.
Tech:
My Lego Robotics Class is one of my favorite things. I built "roaring fans" and the "airplane" over the break. My mom says he loves the airplane, it is pretty cool.
P.E.
This week I finished my soccer practice class. We won' start up soccer again till March. I am going to work on my kicks so that I a ready to go for games in the spring.
